PROTECTING TENANTS AT FORECLOSURE ACT EXPIRED ON 12/31/’14
TITLE VII-PROTECTING TENANTS AT FORECLOSURE ACT (expired 12/31/’14):
Renters in good standing have been evicted from properties in foreclosures with little or no notice in violation of their leases. To address this problem, the Federal law: Protecting Tenants at Foreclosure Act was passed in order to protect tenants in foreclosure however this law expired on December 31, 2014. In the meantime, Florida Senate Bill 524 and Florida House Bill 779, if passed, may provide similar but less substantial protection as the previous Federal protection.
